Georges Doche

About

Georges Doche was a Lebanese artist of Egyptian origin.

Georges Doche was born in Cairo in the 1940s and was raised in Beirut in the 1950s. He studied chemistry, like his father, before studied philosophy and painting in Paris. In the 1980s, he brought all his activities and passions together by opening an antiques gallery in Beirut, to showcase his jewelry. Georges Doche soon showed in numerous public and private institutions around the world. Both ambitious and talented, unclassifiable and recognizable, he is one of the great representative of the libanese capital's once flourishing art scene. In 2022, his works were included in the exceptional touring exhibition « Beyrouth And The Golden Sixties » presented in Berlin, Lyon and Doha. In 2025, his works will be exhibited at Galerie Saleh Barakat in Beirut.
